IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
Lake Durango Water Authority
Failure to be Operated by State Certified Operator.
Este informe contiene información muy importante sobre su agua potable. Tradúzcalo o hable con alguien que lo entienda bien.
Our water system recently violated a drinking water requirement. Although this situation is not an emergency, as our customers you have a right to know what happened, what you should do, and what we are doing to correct this situation.
The state drinking water program requires that all public drinking water systems must be under the direct supervision of a certified operator at the appropriate certification level. We have received a violation because our water system failed to document being operated by a state certified operator at the appropriate level.
We also failed to notify you of the violation/situation in a timely manner.
What does this mean? What should I do?
○ There is nothing you need to do at this time. If a situation arises where the water is no longer safe to drink, you will be notified within 24 hours.
What is being done?
○ There were delays in the process of updating operator certifications based on out-of-state reciprocity and online documentation issues for Douglas Carothers.
We have resolved the problem by submitting the proper documentation, and the violation has been resolved. For more information, please contact Chris Kramer at [email protected] or 970-247-4062, or PO BOX 657 Durango, CO, 81301.
*Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.*
